Packaging of Hazardous Materials

Ensuring specific requirements for packaging, marking and documentation of consignments containing dangerous goods is a fundamental prerequisite for successfully submitting the consignment for transport.
Packaging intended for dangerous goods is subject to strict test criteria in accordance with international regulations, which define the design and capacity of such packaging as well as the technical requirements for its resistance. For each substance or item, quantity limits for individual packages are precisely defined, together with the related requirements for entries in the transport documentation.
A consignment containing dangerous goods needs to be shipped and it is not clear how to pack it correctly. There is uncertainty whether the consignment contains dangerous goods. Or a consignment showing characteristics of dangerous goods has been received from a business partner and needs to be forwarded. An offer for packaging will be prepared according to the required mode of transport.
Consignments are packed in accordance with internationally applicable regulations governing the transport of dangerous goods by air, road and sea.The main source of information is the Safety Data Sheet or MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheet), which is also an essential part of the documentation accompanying the consignment during transport.

To prepare a packaging offer, the Safety Data Sheet / MSDS of the transported substance or item is required, as well as the following information:
name of the substance or item (trade name, technical name)
quantity of the substance or item (in units according to the nature of the goods)
dimensions of the original packaging (L / W / H)
address of the sender
address of the recipient
name and telephone contact of the person responsible for the consignment
